The 11 lamp is designed to invoke the sense of walking in the forest. A large grounding element hides the light source, and long slender pieces of wood emerge from this element reaching up. These long geometric pieces are cut from the live edges of wood boards and feature intact barks that twist and turn in unexpected ways, creating mesmerizing spaces in between the illuminated surfaces of longitudinal wood grain. As one walk around the lamp, the scene of light, shadow and space change to create a dynamic and moving piece further accentuated by the use of simple forms.
